This Week At CSBC May 9-May 15

Happy Mother’s Day!

President Abraham Lincoln said, “I remember my mother’s prayers and they have always followed me. They have clung to me all my life.” Every child needs someone to pray for them. Every child with a loving, praying mom is rich in what matters most. Tomorrow we will honor the ladies of CSBC with a gift to say thank you for what you mean to your children, your church and your Lord. We are thankful for the way you love and serve others. You make a difference in the lives of those around you.

Coming Events

Register For The Ministry Expo Coming Next Weekend

This Saturday at 8:30 we will kick off our Ministry Expo Weekend. Our friend, Lewis McClendon will inspire, inform and equip us with biblical principles for serving the Lord by ministering to others. This is for anyone currently serving or interested in serving the Lord through any of the ministries of CSBC. Sunday evening we will begin at 5:30 in the Gillming Center for the Expo, which will feature all the ministries of CSBC. There is no cost for the entire weekend, but we would like to be prepared with printed materials, food and refreshments. Please register online at mycsbc.com; by texting the word “expo” to 417.889.1999; or by calling the church office.

Memorial Day Picnic, Sunday, May 30

On Sunday afternoon, May 30, we will enjoy a picnic at Phelps Grove Park in place of our Sunday evening service. We are looking forward to a great time of fellowship and fun together!

GriefShare Continues Thursday Evening

Anyone who is struggling with the loss of a loved one, regardless of age or circumstances, will find a loving and compassionate environment where they will learn the comforting truths from the Word of God to help them cope and heal from the pain of their loss. GriefShare meets in our Fellowship Hall Thursdays at 6 p.m.

Chapel Remodel Underway-Volunteers

We are well into the remodeling of our chapel, and these next three weeks are crucial to our timeline of completion by June 1. If you are willing to help for a day, a morning, afternoon or evening, we can use your help! See Andy Young at church or contact the church office. Thanks in advance for your help!

Family Service Sunday Night

Our Sunday evening Family Service is the time each week that the whole family can sit together, worship together, and hear the Word of God together. Sunday night we continue our series on the Fruits of the Spirit to encourage and equip us to live our lives with the reality of God’s presence. For fun, we have given it a baseball theme. These Family Services include videos, games and activities for kids and adults. Don’t miss a week!

Wednesday Next Steps Begin Next Month

Beginning Wednesday night, June 2, we will launch Next Steps, a new format for our Wednesday evening services. Every believer needs to be equipped to walk with the Lord and serve the Lord in every stage of their life. Over the next few weeks we will lay out for you the exciting opportunities we are planning to help you identify and take the next step in your walk with the Lord.

We want to encourage everyone to be faithful with their tithes and offerings.

You can give:

Using the offering boxes in the back of the auditorium and on the walls in the lobby

Through the church website at mycsbc.com

Through the mail – our offering envelopes are postage paid – meaning you can drop your offering in the mail without a stamp. If you would like us to send you envelopes to use during this season, just call the church office and we will be happy to put them in the mail to you asap.

Thank you so much for your faithfulness in giving to the Lord.

Important Information For Meeting In Person

We take the safety and health of our CSBC family and guests very seriously. Our buildings are disinfected to CDC standards every day (including Sundays between morning and evening services).

If you are hesitant to return to in-person church services, we understand. We will continue to live stream our services.

If you are experiencing fever, persistent cough or other symptoms, please continue to watch the services from your home until you are better.

We are asking everyone to follow the city masking requirements.

Continue to pray for one another, be considerate of others and extend grace to one another during this time.
