This Week At CSBC May 23-29

Coming Events

Congratulations Graduates!

Sunday we will honor those who have graduated from high school or college this year. We recognize the hard work that has gotten these grads to this place, and we celebrate this special milestone with them.

Ministry Expo A Huge Blessing

Last week we emphasized the different ministries of our church and asked our church family to consider the opportunities to make a difference. At the end of the weekend, scores of cards were turned in, reflecting the willingness of our church family to serve the Lord. We have worked hard this past week to contact those who volunteered through phone, email and text message. We praise the Lord for His working in our midst!

Safety Response Team Meeting Sunday Night; Other Ministry Meetings Coming

The first of the follow-up meetings from the Ministry Expo happens Sunday night after the evening service. This vital ministry has been in great need of help, and we thank the Lord for the response received during the Ministry Expo. Whether you are already involved, filled out a card last week, or are interested and willing, join us for a brief meeting after the Family Service Sunday night.

Memorial Day Picnic, Coming Sunday, May 30

Next Sunday afternoon we will enjoy a picnic at Phelps Grove Park in place of our Sunday evening service. We’re not quite ready to get back to shared covered dishes, so everyone will need to bring your own picnic meal.  The church will provide drinks and ice cream! Bring your blanket, lawn chairs, outdoor games and join us for a great time of fellowship and fun together.

Wednesday Next Steps

Beginning June 2, we will launch Next Steps, a new format for our Wednesday evening services. Read the Next Steps class  descriptions below to help you identify and take your next step in your walk with the Lord.

First Step Class – a study series for new believers and/or for those who desire to shore up the foundations of their Christian life. Though not required it can be a starting point for those  interested in becoming a part of our CSBC Family.

Second Step Class – a study series based on the “Improving Your Serve” curriculum, for those who are growing in their faith and desire a greater understanding of the ongoing purposes of God for their life.

Next Step Class – an ongoing series of Bible studies designed to provide followers of Jesus with a pathway to walk on as they become more like Jesus and advance His work.

Wednesday Next Steps will help every believer to CONNECT to the Lord and this church; GROW in their walk with the Lord and SERVE the Lord in every stage of their Christian life.

Text “Next” to the church number 417.889.1999 to register for the step you want to take.

GriefShare Continues Thursday Evening

Anyone who is struggling with the loss of a loved one, regardless of age or circumstances, will find a loving and compassionate environment where they will learn the comforting truths from the Word of God to help them cope and heal from the pain of their loss. GriefShare meets in our Fellowship Hall Thursdays at 6 p.m.

Chapel Remodel Volunteers-Still Working

Our staff and volunteers are doing incredible work! These next two weeks are critical to our timeline of being ready for new flooring on June 1. If you are willing to help for a day, a morning, afternoon or evening, we can use your help! See Andy Young at church or contact the church office. Thanks in advance for your help!

Important Information For Meeting In Person

We take the safety and health of our CSBC family and guests very seriously. Our buildings are disinfected to CDC standards every day (including Sundays between morning and evening services).

If you are hesitant to return to in-person church services, we understand. We will continue to live stream our services.

If you are experiencing fever, persistent cough or other symptoms, please continue to watch the services from your home until you are better.

We are asking everyone to follow the city masking requirements.

Continue to pray for one another, be considerate of others and extend grace to one another during this time.
