Services and VBS Update
July 21, 2021
Last Saturday, out of an abundance of caution, we made the decision to go to online-only services this past Sunday through Wednesday. In the weeks prior, we watched a rise of coronavirus infections connected to our church family. Some were hospitalized, some dealt with it at home. Then on Saturday, one of the young people who went to camp came home not feeling well, and tested positive for covid. The latest developments are that a number of additional young people that were at youth camp last week have now tested positive, and some brought it home to family members who have contracted the virus as well.
On a truly positive note, there were at least seven young people who trusted Christ and scores of other decisions made by the young people who went to camp last week! The temporary circumstances we are dealing with now pale in light of those decisions with eternal ramifications!
As promised, we want to update everyone with the status of our church schedule as a result of these number of active cases among our church family. Please note the following:
There will be no church sponsored in-person services or gatherings through Saturday, July 31. We will make the decisions for the week of Sunday, August 1 next week.
Sunday School, Sunday AM Worship and Wednesday services will be live-streamed. There will be no Sunday evening live-stream this Sunday evening.
GROW, Primetimers, GriefShare, Reformers Unanimous will not meet this week, nor the week of July 25-31.
Vacation Bible School has been canceled for this summer. We still have the Deluge water activity scheduled for Friday evening, August 13, and we are planning to make it bigger than ever!
Because family members of some of our church staff have been impacted, there may be times that our church offices will not be open during regular business hours. It would be good to call and check before coming by just to be sure someone is there.
We are all disappointed in the changes and adjustments that we have been forced to make. But our ministry continues. We are still reaching, teaching and ministering to everyone we can, albeit through different means.
Thank you for your faithfulness during this time. Be as faithful or more so to the live-streamed services as you were to our in-person services. Let God work in and through you during this season we are currently experiencing. We are looking forward to seeing how God is going to use this time in each of our lives.
