Weekly Update 8-8-2021

Welcome To CSBC On Sunday, August 8, 2021

We are excited for another Sunday to worship God and lift up the name of Jesus Christ! Whether you join us in person or online, we are thankful you are part of what the Lord is doing at Cherry Street Baptist Church on this Lord’s day.

Camp Service Sunday Night

Tomorrow evening’s Family Service will feature our young people who recently went to camp. Don’t miss hearing what the Lord did in the hearts of the youth and counselors who went to camp.

“Deluge” Event Reimagined & Postponed to Friday August 27

We returned last week to in-person services and are still using precautions while meeting together. We are taking the additional steps to reimagine our “Deluge” water event to a “Back to School” night of fun and moving it forward a couple of weeks to Friday, August 27. We will be sharing details later this week.

These August Sundays Are Something Special

Each Sunday of August has something special:

August 8 – Camp Service on Sunday Evening

August 15 – Family Sunday with Pastor Matt Trill

August 22 – Back To School Sunday – each child receives Back To School gifts.

August 29 – Faith@Home Sunday – introduction of new ministry at CSBC

Family Sunday Next Sunday, August 15, With Pastor Matt Trill

We are excited to welcome Pastor Matt Trill of Largo, Florida as our guest preacher next Sunday. He will be speaking on this first of three Sundays where we are focusing on families and children.

Everyone Working Together

Help us keep everyone as safe as possible.

We ask everyone who has a fever, other symptoms or an exposure to Covid-19 to watch the services on the live-stream until they are better or their quarantine time has passed.

Please consider an alternative to shaking hands.

If you need to wear masks to do so.

Please be aware of distancing during fellowship times before and after services.

Help us keep our fellowship in the auditorium or outside the building instead of our narrow hallways.

Ask the Lord to help those who are impacted by Covid-19.

Wednesday Next Steps

Wednesday Next Steps classes help every believer to CONNECT to the Lord and this church; GROW in their walk with the Lord; and SERVE the Lord in every stage of their Christian life. There are three classes available: First Step; Second Step; and the Next Step class. There is also a Next Step Choir rehearsal where the choir will meet, and also have the opportunity to grow through the Next Step teaching. Take the Next Steps in your Christian life this Wednesday evening at 6:30. Wednesday nights are special for kids, too! This summer’s Board Games theme is a hit with the children!

Next Prime Timers Meeting Is August 17

If you are a senior adult, make your plans to join the PrimeTimers on Tuesday, August 17 at 10:30 a.m.

Chapel Chair Project

The chapel remodel budget didn’t include funds to purchase new seating. Some have asked about new chairs and even offered to help purchase them. In fact, we have been offered a matching gift to help purchase the chairs. This is how it works:

The chairs cost $70 – so if you give $70 to buy one chair, it’s actually buying 2 chairs!

We need 150 chairs for capacity in the chapel, so 75 people willing to give to buy 1 chair would cover all 150.

Production time is into the late fall. That allows August and September to receive the gifts. So $10 a week for seven weeks, or $35 this month and again next month would be great. If you desire to help, whatever would work for you will be just fine!

Using Realm online or envelope to give? Simply choose “other” and put “Chairs” in the memo line.

Thank You For Your Faithful Giving

God continues to bless our church through your faithful giving. Whether you give through the Connect App, online at mycsbc.com, or by mailing your offerings using our postage paid offering envelopes, we thank you for allowing God to use you to advance the mission of CSBC here and around the world. If you need envelopes or help with giving online or on the app, please contact the church office.

Realm Connect – Our Church App

Our Realm Connect App allows us to send out announcements electronically as needed, rather than waiting for Sunday to publish them in the bulletin. The Connect App also allows you to be faithful with your giving. Realm Connect allows us to do many things more efficiently and effectively, like managing events, group attendance and communications and so much more! If you don’t have the Realm Connect app, send an email to Info@mycsbc.com We will send a link to the Realm Connect app.
