Missions 9:37 Kicks Off Today
We are excited to begin our annual missions emphasis today! Our theme is “Mission 9:37” which is taken from Jesus’ words, “The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few,” (Matthew 9:37). Our month includes guest speakers, missionaries, and annual Missions Conference coming Sunday-Wednesday, September 19-22, with Paul Monroe from Columbia, South Carolina as our speaker. Sunday September 26 will be Faith Promise Sunday, followed by a special Sunday on October 3 (see below).
Our Partnership with BBFI Missions & Project 9:38
Our guest speaker today is our own Dr. Jon Konnerup, mission director of Baptist Bible Fellowship Missions. The BBFI Mission office is a great asset to our church and missionaries for which we are very grateful! Jon will be preaching for us today. He will also introduce Project 938, a coordinated prayer emphasis with churches and Christians around the world. On Sunday, October 3, we will take part in Project 938, which is based on Jesus instruction in Matthew 9:38, “Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.”
Labor Day Schedule Changes
There will be no Family Service this evening. Our Monday evening GROW Outreach will move to Thursday evening, September 9.
Faith@Home Resource Center
We launched our Faith@Home ministry last Sunday, and we are already hearing the excitement around it. The Faith@Home Resource Center, located in the north lobby is open before and after all of our services. We want to see every home committed to developing the faith of each individual in their home. The Faith@Home Resource Center provides free, one step at a time tools for every season of life, as well as additional resources.
Wednesday Next Steps Class Registrations
Registration is open for the First Step (foundations of the Christian Life) and Second Step (foundations of Christian Service) classes that will start again on Wednesday, October 13. Beginning in September, our fall Next Step Class will be “No Doubt: Six Things We Can Know for Sure” which shows that we can be certain of the things of God and the way He seeks to work in our lives; followed by “Walking in Confidence” which studies Abraham and encourages us to learn to trust and walk by faith. Take the Next Steps in your Christian life this Wednesday evening at 6:30. You can register for your Next Step class by texting “next” to 417.889.1999 or at mycsbc.com/next-steps. Even if you don’t register, we want you to come and take your next step!
