“Football Sunday” Next Week

There is no bigger cultural event in America (that’s not a holiday) than the Super Bowl, which happens next Sunday. Although our KC Chiefs didn’t make the big game, we want to leverage the big game for the sake of the gospel, so next Sunday is “Football Sunday” here at CSBC. There will be video testimonies from NFL players who are believers who desire to see others come to know Christ. Following the morning, we will be enjoying a “Tailgate” Lunch in the Gillming Center. Pick up a handful of invitations to use to invite your unsaved and unchurched friends, especially those football fans!

Family “Foundation Stones” Series Concludes Tonight

We have been studying the Ten Commandments and their importance in family life. We will wrap it up this evening with a practical challenge. We will also have a framed print of the Ten Commandments for each family in attendance this evening to have as a reminder and a teaching tool in your home!

Faith@Home Center New Resource

Pick up the new family activity resource pack to use with your children around Valentine’s Day from the Faith@Home Center in the north lobby today. Use this resource to help your family learn about and put into practice the kind of love that every Christian should show to others. The Faith@Home Center continues to provide resources for improving faith-building in our homes.

Wednesday Next Steps

There is a place for everyone to learn and grow on Wednesday evenings at CSBC. There is a First Step Class (foundations of the Christian Life), a Second Step Class (foundations of Christian Service). These classes will finish up this session the next two Wednesdays, and will begin again on March 2. The Next Step Class will continue it’s study entitled “How To Avoid Life’s Pitfalls” Take the “Next Step” of growth in your Christian life in a Next Step class.

Business Meeting Delayed Until February 23

We will have our annual business meeting and election of officers on Wednesday, February 23. We have delayed the meeting a couple of weeks due to complications from covid in our area and weather closures.

Officer Nominations Open

Use the forms on the table in the lobby to write in your nominations for church officers. We will be voting on deacons, trustees, treasurers and the church clerk. Drop your nomination forms in the box on the table. Nominations will be received the next two Sundays.

Bus Ministry Becomes “Driven” Ministry

There is no ministry that has consistently produced a harvest of souls won to Jesus and lives changed forever than our CSBC Bus Ministry. We have multiple families in our church who were reached because someone was willing to provide transportation for them and/or their family. We are completely overhauling this ministry and bringing it into the 21st century. You can make a difference in this ministry without ever riding a bus, shuttle or van on Sundays. This Saturday, February 12, we will be having a special breakfast to unveil the new Driven ministry at 8:30. Come find out what it’s all about! Reserve your place by texting the word “driven” to the church phone number, 417.889.1999.

Looking Ahead

  • Awana Sparks Float Your Boat Night, moved to Wednesday, February 9
