Welcome To CSBC On Sunday, March 13, 2022

It is a joy to welcome you to Cherry Street Baptist Church. We are so glad you have chosen to worship with us. The ministry of our church is built on a commitment to the Word of God, His love for all people, and our commitment to His mission to reach those He loves with the good news of the Gospel. If you are visiting our website for the first time, we want you to let us know you are here. Please fill out our digital guest card. We trust God to work in your life as He has in ours through the ministry of the music, teaching and preaching of His Word. Church family, be sure and show these guests a warm CSBC welcome today.

-Pastor Dennis Jennings

God’s Hand In Our Ministry

It is so exciting to see how God continues to bless our church. We saw an example of His working last Sunday, when a young adult in our church extended an invitation to a young man resulting in him trusting Christ! We praise the Lord for how He is using our church family to make a difference in the lives of others for eternity.

What’s Your Easter Reach?

Google searches reveal that more people search the word “church” around Easter than at any other time of the year. Research tells us that 82% of unchurched people will respond positively to an Easter invitation if given the opportunity by someone they know, yet only 2% of church attenders will extend an invitation to Easter services. We want to ask you to personally change that statistic in our church. Every one of us have unsaved and unchurched people within our reach that will respond positively to an invitation. What will your “Easter Reach” be this year?

“Tough Questions: Bible Answers” Family Service Series

In our Sunday evening Family Service, we are tackling some of the most important questions facing us today. We are using this time to equip every child, every young person, and every Christian with God’s truth to strengthen their faith and help them face the headwinds of the anti-God, anti-Christian culture in which we live.

New Officers Elected During Business Meeting

Our church celebrated the goodness of God on our church last year. We approved our budget, helped missionaries with projects/needs, and elected officers for 2022. The officers for this year are: Deacons: Vencil Burnett, Bryan Foster, Mike Hamski, Bob Kotulski, Derek Podurgiel, George Abramovitz, Andrew Abramovitz, Matt Brown, Shad Jennings, Dan Moore; Junior Deacon: Keaton Worley; Trustees: Steve Hylton, Adam Pardue, Bennie Schmachtenberger; Treasurer: Dennis McMurphy; Assistant Treasurer: Ed Wilson; Church Clerk: Beth Foster.

New Session Next Steps Foundations Classes

God is working in the lives of those who have taken part in our Wednesday Next Step classes. New sessions of two of the discipleship classes, Foundations of the Christian Life (step one) and Foundations of Christian Service (step two). New sessions will begin this Wednesday, March 16. The Next Step class in the chapel is working through a study called “Living Life Connected to Christ”, (highlights some “last minute” teaching from Jesus). To register for either of the “foundations” classes, text “next” to 417.889.1999 or register online at mycsbc.com/next-steps.

Ladies Event April 1-2

The first weekend in April will be special for the ladies of CSBC. Mom, musician and songwriter and gifted speaker Kelley Murphy will be joining our ladies for special “sleep in your own bed” Ladies Event. The weekend will kick off with a steak and chicken dinner on Friday evening, followed by music, teaching and lots of fun! Saturday will start with breakfast and more of the fun and ministry of Kelley. Cost of the event is $30, which covers the meals, snacks, and event materials. Early registration is open at the table in the Lobby, online or by texting “ladies” to the church number (417.889.1999).
