Digital Bulletin 5-29-2022
Welcome To CSBC On Sunday, May 29, 2022

Welcome to Cherry Street Baptist Church. We are thankful you have chosen to worship with us this holiday weekend. Memorial Day became an official federal holiday in 1971, and is a uniquely American holiday for honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. We want to thank the Lord for the liberties we enjoy – and remember those who paid the ultimate price to gain and preserve our freedoms, including the freedom we have to gather for worship today. Please let us know you are here by filling out our digital guest card. We pray that God will bless you today!
-Pastor Dennis Jennings
Ken Gillming Preaching Today

God used Dr. Kenneth Gillming (who along with his dear wife, Norma, are enjoying their heavenly home today) as the founding pastor of our church. We were blessed for years to have the ministry of Ken Gillming, who served on the staff with his dad for decades, then serving as our senior pastor until 2008. Humanly speaking, our church owes a great debt to the Gillming family! We are blessed today to have Ken & Shirley Gillming with us. Pastor Ken will be preaching for us this morning. Let’s welcome them back home!
Summer Camps and Camp Scholarships

The most impactful week of the year, spiritually speaking, for kids and teens is the week of camp. Just two weeks from tomorrow, our children entering 3rd grade to those leaving 5th grade will head to camp. Youth Camp will take place July 11-15 for young people heading into 6th grade to those just graduating from high school. Cost for kids camp is $165; for teens it’s $180. If you would like to provide a scholarship for kids or teens to go to camp, just add it to your regular giving and note the amount for “Camp Scholarship.” If you would like more information about camp, see Jason Lange or Kevin Adams about kids camp, Andy Young or Riley Berry about youth camp. Please pray for our kids and teens as they go to camp that God would do a great work in each of their lives.
Memorial Day Picnic This Afternoon

Instead of our Family Service this evening, we will gather at 4:30 this afternoon at Phelps Grove Park (just east of National on Bennett Street) for a picnic together. We won’t be combining our meals, so bring your own picnic dinner. We will provide drinks and desserts.
“Surf’s Up!” For Kids This Summer

Registration is open for our CSBC summer Wednesday night kids program called “Beati-dudes!” Beginning this Wednesday, June 1, our preschool children up through 5th graders will enjoy loads of fun, games and Bible lessons from Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, all built around a beach theme. To register, text the word “surf” to 417.889.1999 or at mycsbc.com.
Next Step Class Study

The Wednesday Next Step begins a new study entitled “Never Alone: The Holy Spirit in Our Lives.” Two foundational classes are also available, “Foundations of the Christian Life” (Step One) and “Foundations of Christian Service” (Step Two). Join us this Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
Cardinals Game This Tuesday

You can stop by the table in the lobby to see if there are any tickets left for the Springfield Cardinals game this Tuesday evening. It’s always a good time when our church family enjoys a Cardinals game together.

Through the website at mycsbc.com
On the Realm Connect app
Through the mail – our offering envelopes are postage paid – meaning you can drop your offering in the mail without a stamp. If you would like us to send you envelopes to use during this season, just call the church office and we will be happy to put them in the mail to you asap.
Thank you so much for your faithfulness in giving to the Lord
Realm Connect – Our Church App

Our Realm Connect App allows us to send out announcements electronically as needed, rather than waiting for Sunday to publish them in the bulletin. The Connect App also allows you to be faithful with your giving. Realm Connect allows us to do many things more efficiently and effectively, like managing events, group attendance and communications and so much more! If you don’t have the Realm Connect app, send an email to Info@mycsbc.com We will send a link to the Realm Connect app.
