Join Us On Sunday, August 7, 2022

Welcome to Cherry Street Baptist Church. The church of the Lord Jesus Christ was never intended to be an exclusive club or clique of the “acceptable.” The truth is, none of us are acceptable to God until we respond to His great love that He sheds on our lives and accept by faith the grace and mercy He offered to us through the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. The very definition of grace and mercy means it is something no one deserves. We are all sinners in need of God’s forgiveness. Our church is made up of people who all needed and received His forgiveness. Our prayer is that you will know this wonderful forgiveness and the peace it brings to your life! Welcome to our church! Please let us know you are here by filling out our digital guest card. We pray that God will bless you this weekend!

God Is At Work

It was exciting to see another man trust Christ last Sunday during the invitation time. Week after week we see God’s power to change lives for eternity active in our midst and we give Him all the glory. Let’s continue to be faithful to share the Gospel, for we believe what the Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 1:16, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth.”
VBS Blessings Continue

It was a huge blessing to see and hear more than a hundred kids and workers sharing the songs they learned in Vacation Bible School last Sunday evening. We were thrilled to have so many visiting families as a part of that service. Continue to pray that the unsaved will be reached with the Gospel, and the unchurched will become a part of this church family as God continues to add to our church.
Awana For Kids Through 5th Grade Begins August 17

Awana is a ministry that provides Bible-based evangelism and discipleship for children through 5th Grade. The name Awana is an acronym for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed,” which comes from their key verse: “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15). The goal of Awana is to “reach kids, equip leaders, and change the world” by making one disciple at a time. Awana meets on Wednesday evenings at 6:15 during the school year. Registration is available at www.mycsbc.com/kids.
New Ministry Awana Readers

We are excited about a new addition to our Awana ministry. Our new Awana Readers ministry begins when Awana begins, on August 17. Many school aged children who were in the critical learning-to-read years during the pandemic have really struggled with reading and comprehension. Awana is designed for kids to learn God’s Word, and it is a far more difficult challenge for those who cannot read. Awana Readers is a one-on-one “learn to read” program that will start with where the child is and help strengthen both reading and comprehension. Awana readers begins thirty minutes before Awana at 5:45. Afterward, the children move directly into Awana for the evening.
Awana Leader and Reader Training

This Wednesday, August 10, there will be training for those who would like to help with Awana Readers at 5:30 p.m. Awana leader training will begin at 6:30 p.m. These training sessions will be held in Room 114 (Senior Ladies classroom).
