Join Us On Sunday, August 28, 2022

Although the calendar says autumn begins September 22, many consider this last week before Labor Day the end of summer. I am reminded of Jeremiah 8:20 “The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.” The prophet was sorrowing over the state of his country. One author wrote, “The prevailing feeling is that if our economy is all right, we are all right. However, many are beginning to realize that the economy can be all right and we can be all wrong.” The good news is God is still working! God is still blessing those who, despite economic and political conditions in this world, are faithful to Him. It is important to remember if we please the Lord, it doesn’t matter whom else we displease. Let’s walk today and this week with a heart to please Him! If you are visiting with us, we want you to know how much we appreciate you! We trust that you will feel right at home. If you are a guest with us, please let us know you are here by filling out our digital guest card. We pray that God will bless you this weekend!

It’s Back To School Sunday

As of this past week, the last of our children, youth and young adults have returned to their respective schools. Today we want to celebrate and pray for them on this “Back to School Sunday.” We have a gift for elementary through high school students.

Back To School Resources in our Faith@Home Center

Parents and grandparents have new resources available in our Faith@Home Center in the north lobby, including new ideas for encouraging your kids, communicating with your children and discipling them in God’s Word. We also have a limited number of devotional books for families with kids. Take time to pick up these helpful resources to use to continue to strengthen faith in your home!

Awana and Awana Readers Reach a Milestone

Awana, our Wednesday evening ministry that provides Bible-based discipleship and evangelism for children through 5th grade, reached the highest number of kids since before the pandemic. Awana is designed for kids to learn God’s Word, and Awana Readers is a one-on-one “learn to read” program designed to help strengthen both reading and comprehension – directly impacting the child’s ability to learn God’s Word. Awana Readers begins before Awana at 5:45 then those children move directly into Awana at 6:15. Registration is available at www.mycsbc.com/kids. If you would like to help with Awana Readers, see our Awana Commander, Jake Severs or contact the church office.

September Is Sunday School Realignment Month

Every believer needs to grow in their faith from the day of their salvation until they graduate to heaven. Christ. This process of growth is “making disciples.” Our Sunday School is the primary discipleship ministry of our church to help everyone growth through a nine-year plan which covers every book of the Bible! We have many great classes in adult departments made up of teachers and communities of people who love the Lord, encourage one another, and expect God to work in and through them each week. Occasionally, circumstances change, and some people would like to try a different class. We also know that sometimes it is hard for new people to “break in” to a class that has been around a long time. Whether you have never tried one of our adult classes or are thinking about trying another, we want you to know that September is the special month to make that happen!

“Living Water for a Thirsty World” Missions Conference

Mark your calendar for September 25-October 2 for our annual global missions emphasis. There will be special services Sunday –Wednesday, a youth event, and we are bringing back the Saturday Missions Barbecue. Details will be coming over the next few weeks.

Christmas Choir Rehearsals Begin Sunday At 5:00 PM
