“No One Left Behind” Phase 1 Report

The mission of Phase 1 of our Fall Emphasis is happening through our Sunday Bible classes. Each class is to enter into the battlefield around us to personally contact everyone who is connected to us – class members, prospects and guests. Our goal is to get them off the battlefield and back to a place of encouragement, acceptance and safety with our church family. To accomplish this over three weeks requires our classes to attempt a combined total of 500 personal visits or phone calls. We are excited to report that our classes made an astounding 322 face-to-face or voice-to-voice contacts in just the first week! We look forward to seeing many of these back with us in our services very soon! Will you help your class leave no one behind? Let your teacher know you are willing to be used to make personal phone calls or porch visits. If everyone does something small, something great will be accomplished.
Phase 2 Connected to Two Exciting Sundays
Our mission in Phase 2 is to connect those outside of our church family to two incredible Sundays. We are asking every member of our church family to make a difference in the lives of those in our own families, neighbors, and friends, those who are unsaved or unchurched by simply giving them a personal invitation. These personal invitations can make an eternal difference.

On November 12, Veterans Sunday, we will be honoring those who have served in the armed forces during the Morning Worship service. Afterwards, we will host a dinner for the veterans and their families after the service. There are 30,000 veterans in the Springfield area. Take a handful of the invitations, and when you see someone wearing a military hat, shirt, or having a tag or decal on their vehicle, thank them for serving and invite them to come!

November 19 is Family Day, complete with a Thanksgiving Dinner and musical guests, Soul’d Out. Pick up invitations and use them to be sure that no one that you can influence for Jesus will be left behind! We are asking you to have someone as your guest on Family Day. You can make an eternal difference.
Family Day Dinner
On Family Day, we will provide the turkey, mashed potatoes, bread and drinks. We are asking everyone to bring the balance of the meal. Specifically, bring green beans or a green bean casserole, corn or corn casserole, and dessert, enough for your family and a visiting family as well. Please bring them all in disposable containers. We will put it all together for a Family Day feast!
Discovery Class

Beginning next week (November 5) in the 9:30 Bible Study hour, Pastor Dennis will begin a three-week class designed to clearly explain what Cherry Street Baptist Church is all about. The Discovery Class meets in the Staff Conference Room on the north hallway.
Ladies Night Out

Ladies, join us for a fun fall fellowship on Friday, November 10 at 6:30pm in the Fellowship Hall. We will have a relaxing night of snacking, conversing, and for those who sign up in advance, painting mugs from Firehouse Pottery. The cost is $15 to paint a mug, which includes all supplies. Or you can just come and enjoy the snacks and fellowship for $3. This is a great chance to connect with friends old and new. Please RSVP by November 5th if you plan to paint so we can get a mug for you.
