Welcome to CSBC

Welcome to Cherry Street Baptist Church on this special Sunday before Independence Day. We come together in worship, gratitude, and prayer, celebrating both our spiritual heritage and the liberties we enjoy. May our time here today strengthen our faith and inspire us to be a light in our community during the week ahead. Please let us know you are here by filling out our digital guest card. We pray that God will bless you this weekend!

Celebrating Our Freedom

On Thursday, our nation will mark the 248th birthday of the founding of our great nation. Today we give ourselves to remembering the freedoms that we enjoy as Americans and as Christians. The greatest freedom ever bought for mankind was paid for by the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Because of this we can be free from the eternal consequences of our sin, and live in the liberty wherein Christ has made us free. “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed,” (John 8:36).

65th Anniversary Begins This Week

This Friday evening kicks off a weekend celebration of the 65th anniversary of Cherry Street Baptist Church. Guests include former pastor Ken Gillming, Keith Gillming, Jim Eberhard, Richie Orrick, Shane Salmon, John Smith, Dan Brown (son of former pastor Harold Brown), Ben Jennings, and many more. The anniversary events are as follows:

This Friday, 6:30 p.m. “An Evening of Praise.” This will be a special evening of music from our choir, musicians and musical guests. Special guests will lead us as they share testimonies of thanksgiving and praise for what the Lord has done in these 65 years of ministry.

Saturday, 4 p.m. Cookout at the Pavilion. We will be grilling out for everyone, enjoying outdoor games, inflatables for the kids. There is no cost, but we would like to ask everyone to register at the Info Hub online or in the lobby, and bring a dessert to share!

Next Sunday Morning “65th Anniversary Celebration.” Guests will be teaching in many of our Sunday School Bible Studies. During the Celebration Service at 10:30, there will be more great music, testimonies, and Ken and Keith Gillming will be “tag team” preaching. We will “burn the note” on our million-dollar mortgage to close out the weekend! Don’t miss this exciting time!

Special Baptism Opportunity

We are planning a special time at the close of our Celebration service next Sunday morning to baptize those who need to follow the Lord in believer’s baptism. If you want to be baptized, please contact Jason Lange, Andy Young or the church office and someone will contact you.

Schedule Changes This Week

Due to the holiday week and our 65th Anniversary celebration at the close of the week we are making the following changes. The church offices will be open Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday during normal business hours. We will not have our normal Wednesday evening services, to accommodate time for Friday’s Evening of Praise. There will be no Sunday evening Family Service next Sunday.

Registration Open For Junior Day Camp

We are now registering boys and girls for an unforgettable day of faith, fun, and friendship at our Junior Day Camp on Friday, July 12th! There will be great Bible lessons, field trips to Dickerson Park Zoo & Enterprise Lanes Bowling, good food, and exciting games. This incredible experience is open to all 3rd-6th graders and is only $15 per person. Information and registration is available at the Info Hub online or in the lobby.

The Info Hub

The Info Hub online provides our church family a centralized place to find information about any event, activity or ministry here at CSBC. To help you stay better informed, the Info Hub can function as an app on your smartphone’s home screen.
