“Search & Rescue” Missions Coming Next Week
The most exciting week of the year – our annual missions conference – begins next Sunday. Our conference theme is based on the search and rescue mission of Jesus. He clearly stated that He came for one purpose: “to seek and to save that which was lost.” “Search & Rescue” will begin next Sunday, September 22, then continue Monday –Wednesday evening, and concluding the following Sunday, September 29. Don’t miss a single service!
Conference Guests
Our conference speaker is Pastor Linzy Slayden, pastor of Friendship Baptist Church in Owasso, Oklahoma. Through the week we will be hearing from some of the missionaries sent out of Cherry Street Baptist Church – Nolan & Janay LeTourneau to Kenya, Christine Enoch to Kenya, and Jim & Sybil Eberhard to Kenya. We will also be meeting some new missionaries as well, including Jacob and Sydney Mulford to Portugal, Rich & Krista Moeller to Scotland, Nicko & Denise Guyer to Guatemala, and Elliot & Bethany Duenow to South Africa.
Conference Events: Dinners, Bonfire & More
Don’t miss any of the exciting events, like those listed below:
– Sunday evening after church, college and youth ice cream and Q&A with missionaries.
– Dinner will be served Monday through Wednesday evenings from 5:30-6:15 to help everyone make it to the 6:30 pm services. Dinners are free (5 and under), $2 (6-12 yrs) and $4 (13+) per person.
– Tuesday morning at 10:30 the Prime Timers will hear from the missionary ladies.
– We will have a Missions Bonfire with Chili, hotdogs and S’mores on Friday evening at 6:00. There will be fun for the whole family!
– After the Missions Bonfire, the teens will play “glow-in-the dark” volleyball.
– The following Sunday, September 29, will be Faith Promise Sunday.
Truth Trackers and CSBC Readers Off to a Great Start!
Our Wednesday evening children’s program, Truth Trackers and CSBC Readers started last week with a wonderful group of CSBC kids and guests. Readers meets from 5:45 and Truth Trackers begins at 6:15. Leader Jake Severs tells us that everything is going well – but we need a few additional volunteers to help with the readers program due to an influx of new kids. You can register on the Events section of the Realm Connect App, the Info Hub online, or at the Info Hub in the lobby.
GriefShare Continues This Thursday Evening
GriefShare is designed to provide comfort, encouragement, and healing to those going through grief. The fall session of GriefShare continues this week, and meets weekly on Thursday evenings from 6-8 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. If you are dealing with a loss, come and take part in this ministry.
The Info Hub
The Info Hub online provides our church family a centralized place to find information about any event, activity or ministry here at CSBC. To help you stay better informed, the Info Hub can function as an app on your smartphone’s home screen. To find instructions for both iPhones and Android phones, go to the Info Hub at mycsbc.com/info and choose “Our Apps.” Help is available at the Info Hub in the lobby.
For Android phones, follow these steps:
1) Open Chrome; 2) Navigate to mycsbc.com/info; 3) Tap the menu icon (the 3 dots in upper right-hand corner); 4) Tap “Add to Home screen”; 5) Change the name to “CSBC Info Hub” and choose “add” and it will appear on your home.
For iPhones, follow these steps:
1) Open Safari; 2) enter mycsbc.com/info and tap “Go”; 3) Tap the “Share” button on the bottom of the page (square box with up arrow); 4) scroll down until you see “Add to Home Screen” and tap on it; 5) The Add to Home Screen dialog box will appear; edit it to say “CSBC Info Hub”; 6) Confirm it, and click Add. Safari will close automatically, and you will be taken to where the icon is located on your iPhone’s or iPad’s home screen.
