Welcome to CSBC

Welcome to our 2024 World Missions Conference! This is the beginning of the best week of the year at Cherry Street Baptist Church. If this is your first time in our conference, I am really excited for you. You are going to meet some great missionaries and hear great preaching from God’s Word by our conference speaker. If you are a guest for the first time, we want you to know we are glad you are here. You are important to God and to us. We are thankful you have chosen to worship with us. It is our prayer that the music, teaching and preaching of God’s Word will encourage and impact your life! Please let us know you are here by filling out our digital guest card. We pray that God will bless you this weekend!

-Pastor Dennis Jennings

“Search & Rescue” Missions

Our conference theme is based on the search and rescue mission of Jesus. He clearly stated in Luke 19:10 that He came for one purpose: “to seek and to save that which was lost.” Our “Search & Rescue” conference will continue in our Family Service tonight at 6pm, then Monday–Wednesday evenings at 6:30. There will be a Kids Conference Monday-Wednesday as well! We will conclude next Sunday, September 29, with even more missionary guests! Don’t miss a single service!

Conference Events: Dinners, Bonfire & More

Don’t miss any of the exciting events, like those listed below:

  • Tonight, after church, there is an event in the Fellowship Hall for college and youth with ice cream and a Q&A session with missionaries.
  • Dinner will be served for a nominal cost on Monday through Wednesday evenings from 5:30-6:15 to help everyone make it to the 6:30 pm services. You can even eat dinner with a missionary! Reservations are required at the Info Hub in the lobby or online, or on your Connect app.
  • Tuesday morning at 10:30 the Prime Timers will hear from the missionary ladies.
  • Friday evening at 6:00: Missions Bonfire with Chili, hotdogs and S’mores. Reservations are required at the Info Hub in the lobby or online, or on your Connect app. There will be fun for the whole family, including a Dunk Tank! After the Missions Bonfire, the teens will play “glow-in-the dark” volleyball.
  • The following Sunday, September 29, will be Faith Promise Sunday.

Welcome Our Guests

Our conference speaker is Pastor Linzy Slayden, pastor of Friendship Baptist Church in Owasso, Oklahoma. Through the week we will be hearing from some of the missionaries sent out of Cherry Street Baptist Church – Nolan & Janay LeTourneau to Kenya, Christine Enoch to Kenya, and Jim & Sybil Eberhard to Kenya. Beginning tomorrow evening, we will meet new missionaries, including Jacob and Sydney Mulford to Portugal, Rich & Krista Moeller to Scotland, Nicko & Denise Guyer to Guatemala, and Elliot & Bethany Duenow to South Africa (by video).

GriefShare Continues This Thursday Evening

GriefShare is designed to provide comfort, encouragement, and healing to those going through grief. The fall session of GriefShare continues this week and meets weekly on Thursday evenings from 6-8 p.m. If you are dealing with a loss, come and take part in this ministry.
