Welcome to “Football Sunday”

On this special Sunday, we celebrate how faith and football intersect in powerful ways. You’ll hear inspiring testimonies from NFL players who have discovered that their relationship with Jesus Christ anchors them far beyond the gridiron. While careers in professional sports may be temporary, these athletes share how their faith provides lasting purpose and eternal impact. As our Kansas City Chiefs prepare for the big game, we’re reminded that our greatest victory comes through knowing Christ. Today, we celebrate both the excitement of game day and the transforming power of faith.

Family Service Resumes Next Sunday

There is no Family Service tonight. In January, we set the table for a new series we are calling “The Go-To Verses of Jesus” which begins next Sunday evening. Join us as we explore the Scripture passages Jesus Himself quoted, and discover “go-to” verses that can become spiritual anchors in your own life. Each week’s message brings Bible truth to life for every generation, helping us see familiar passages through Jesus’s eyes while building our own treasury of meaningful verses. Whether you’re new to the Bible or a long-time student of Scripture, you’ll gain fresh insights and practical applications. Make Sunday evenings at 6:00 PM a time of family discovery as we learn from Jesus’s example and deepen our love for God’s Word.

Projects Get Underway

Two of the projects funded by your generous Christmas offerings are underway. As the weather allows, the HVAC in the lobby and the Gillming Center roof project will be completed in the next few weeks. We are grateful for God’s provision through His people.

Annual Business Meeting and Officer Nominations

Mark your calendars for our Annual Business Meeting on Wednesday evening, February 19, at 6:30 PM. Together we’ll celebrate God’s faithfulness to Cherry Street Baptist throughout 2024 and look ahead to His vision for 2025. We’ll review and vote on our new budget and elect church officers for the coming year. Nomination forms for church officers are available in the lobby through Wednesday evening. Your participation and prayers are vital as we seek God’s direction for our church family.

GriefShare Begins March 6

The pain of losing a loved one can feel overwhelming and isolating. If you’re walking through grief, you don’t have to face it alone. GriefShare offers a caring, confidential community where you can find support and begin your healing journey. Through expert-led videos, thoughtful group discussions, and personal reflection time, you’ll discover practical ways to navigate your grief and find hope for the future. Our next 13-week session begins Thursday, March 6 at 6:00 PM. To register or learn more, stop by the Info Hub or call the church office. Let us walk alongside you through this challenging season.

The Info Hub

The Info Hub online provides our church family a centralized place to find information about any event, activity or ministry here at CSBC. To help you stay better informed, the Info Hub can function as an app on your smartphone’s home screen. To find instructions for both iPhones and Android phones, go to the Info Hub at mycsbc.com/info and choose “Our Apps.” Help is available at the Info Hub in the lobby.

For Android phones, follow these steps:

1) Open Chrome; 2) Navigate to mycsbc.com/info; 3) Tap the menu icon (the 3 dots in upper right-hand corner); 4) Tap “Add to Home screen”; 5) Change the name to “CSBC Info Hub” and choose “add” and it will appear on your home.

For iPhones, follow these steps:

1) Open Safari; 2) enter mycsbc.com/info and tap “Go”; 3) Tap the “Share” button on the bottom of the page (square box with up arrow); 4) scroll down until you see “Add to Home Screen” and tap on it; 5) The Add to Home Screen dialog box will appear; edit it to say “CSBC Info Hub”; 6) Confirm it, and click Add. Safari will close automatically, and you will be taken to where the icon is located on your iPhone’s or iPad’s home screen.

Our Realm Connect App allows us to send out announcements electronically as needed, rather than waiting for Sunday to publish them in the bulletin.
