Welcome to CSBC!

Welcome to Cherry Street Baptist Church! We are so glad you are here today. While I am away this week on a missions trip to London and Wales, please know that you are loved and prayed for. There is something special about gathering as a community of faith, and whether you have been with us for years or this is your very first Sunday, my prayer is that you experience the presence of God and the warmth of genuine Christian fellowship. We believe God has a purpose in bringing you here — may today’s service be an encouragement to your heart! Please let us know you are here by filling out our digital guest card. We pray that God will bless you this weekend!

-Pastor Dennis Jennings

Welcome Dr. Rick Carter

We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Rick Carter to our pulpit today! Dr. Carter is no stranger to Cherry Street — he is a long-time friend of our church family, and it is a joy to have him back. A graduate of Baptist Bible College right here in Springfield, Dr. Carter has served the Lord faithfully for decades as a pastor, educator, and evangelist. He currently serves as a staff evangelist at McCauley Baptist Church in San Antonio, TX, traveling widely to preach revivals and mission conferences. He and his wife Shannon have three children, ten grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Please make Dr. Carter feel right at home — we know God has a word for us today!

Discipleship Mentoring Groups – It’s Not Too Late!

What a night! Last Wednesday we had a wonderful kickoff as we learned the S.O.A.P. method of personal Bible study — a simple, practical tool to help every believer develop a consistent, daily walk with the Lord. This week our groups officially begin meeting, and there is still time to be part of this life-changing journey! Don’t miss out — sign up today at the Info Hub or use the QR code on the screen. We believe this will be one of the most impactful things you do this year!

Kenya Missions Trip Garage Sale Fundraiser

Spring cleaning season is here — and your donated items could help send our team to Kenya! We are hosting a garage sale fundraiser March 12–14, and we need gently used donations to make it a success. Every item you contribute helps fund this incredible missions opportunity. See Andy Young for details on how to donate or get involved!

CSBC Spring Training – Leads to Easter

Our Spring Training emphasis runs from March 15 through Easter Sunday, April 5, and every week has a goal. Think of it like stepping up to the plate — March 15 is your Single (invite your first person), March 22 is your Double (invite your second), March 29 is your Triple (invite your third), and Easter Sunday, April 5, is the Home Run — four people coming through our doors to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ! The goal is simple: one commitment per week leading up to Easter. But before the emphasis even officially begins, we have Pregame Warmups on March 1 and March 8 — teachers will be decorating their classrooms, distributing lineup cards and invites, announcing class goals, and challenging every member to bring their first promise for Easter. This isn’t just a month on the calendar — it’s a season of intentional, Spirit-led preparation. Let’s step up to the plate, Cherry Street, and swing for the fences this Easter!

Griefshare – Finding Hope After Loss

Grief is heavy — but you don’t have to carry it alone. A new session of GriefShare begins this Thursday, March 5, from 6–8 PM in the Fellowship Hall. This welcoming, Christ-centered program offers video teaching, honest conversation, and a personal workbook to help you navigate loss at your own pace. You’re welcome to join at any point. Contact the church office for more information.
