Welcome to CSBC!

Welcome to Cherry Street Baptist Church! We’re so glad you’ve made time to be with us today, whether you’ve been part of this family for years or you’re walking through our doors for the very first time. Church isn’t just a place we go—it’s a family we belong to, gathered around the truth of God’s Word and the hope of the Gospel. Our prayer is that today you’ll sense God’s presence in worship, encouragement in fellowship, and a fresh reminder that you are loved by Him. We’re truly honored to have you with us this morning! Please let us know you are here by filling out our digital guest card. We pray that God will bless you this weekend!

Rejoice in What God is Doing

We serve a God who is still at work, and we saw it again last week! A man trusted Christ as his Savior following our service on Sunday evening—what a wonderful reminder that the Gospel is still changing lives right here at CSBC. God also is adding new members to our church family, and we’re rejoicing over that too! This morning, we get to celebrate even more, as we witness baptisms during our service. Praise the Lord for every soul saved and every step of obedience taken. Truly, “this is the LORD’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes” (Psalm 118:23)!

Welcoming Lewis & Karen McClendon

We’re delighted to welcome Lewis and Karen McClendon back to CSBC! They spent Saturday morning training our adult Sunday School teachers, and we’re grateful for their investment in our church. Lewis, who is speaking for us today, pastored in California before spending time here in Springfield, then moving to Canton, Ohio. Today he ministers at Canton Baptist Temple and through Abound, an organization that comes alongside pastors and missionaries around the world—one that our church proudly supports each month. Take a moment to welcome Lewis and Karen and thank them for pouring into our teachers this weekend!

Pray for Our Kenya Missions Team

This week our missions team departs for Nairobi, Kenya, and we’re asking our whole church family to be in prayer! They’ll be serving alongside the Eberhards, the LeTourneaus, and Christine Enoch—laboring together in churches, orphanages, schools, and the Bible College. Pray for safe travel, good health, and open doors for the Gospel. Pray, too, that God would use this team to encourage our missionaries and strengthen the ministries they’ve given their lives to. What a privilege to partner in this work “to the uttermost part of the earth” (Acts 1:8)!

CSBC Night at the Cardinals – August 11

Mark your calendars—CSBC Night at the Springfield Cardinals is coming August 11! Bring the whole family for a fun night out together as a church, cheering on the Cardinals and enjoying great fellowship. Tickets will be available at the Info Hub in the lobby starting this week, so be sure to grab yours early. This is a great, low-key way to invite a neighbor, coworker, or friend who might not normally step through our church doors—so start thinking about who you could bring along!
