Why Online Giving?

We have had multiple requests from church members to offer various electronic giving options.

Online Giving:

  • Offers a convenient, private and secure option for giving.
  • Strengthens participation and support in the church
  • Allows you to contribute even when you’re out of town
  • Is more secure than bringing cash or checks to church

Option 1: Use Online Bill Pay

Contributions to Cherry Street Baptist Church can usually be automated quite easily using your bank’s online services, if offered. Most banks use a secure and encrypted electronic payment system like the Automated Clearing House (ACH) to handle these transactions.

Recurring or one-time contributions can be set up using your bank’s online bill-pay system.  This will allow funds from your account to be sent to Cherry Street Baptist Church.

When prompted by your bank, please list the church contact information as follows:

Cherry Street Baptist Church

1201 S Oak Grove Ave

Springfield, MO 65804

(417) 889-1999

Please make sure to note any designations on the memo line of the check. All funds received without a designation will be deposited to the general fund.

This is the preferred option for online contributions since no cost or fees are incurred by you or the church (See FAQ’s for additional information).

Option 2 : Online Giving

Cherry Street Baptist Church has contracted with Commerce Bank to give us the option of receiving secure and encrypted contributions through Debit Card, E-check and Credit Card.  Through Commerce Bank, gifts can be set up for one-time or as recurring transactions.

You will not incur any fees using Commerce Bank for your contributions, but the church will pay a fee of 2.45% of the contribution amount.  If you wish to offset that expense so the full contribution amount is received by the church, you can add the additional amount to your contribution.

Option 3 : Electronic Giving On-site At The Church

Kiosks are located throughout the buildings at Cherry Street Baptist Church allowing attendees to give to the ministry as well as register and pay for certain events.Contributions to Cherry Street’s General Fund can be made using a debit/credit card at these kiosks. Contributions for the Missions and Building Funds may also be made as long as they are designated within the transaction. You will not incur any fees using the kiosk for your contributions, but the church will pay a fee of 2.45% of the contribution amount.  If you wish to offset that expense so the full contribution amount is received by the church, you can add the additional amount to your contribution.

Statement On The Use Of Credit Cards

The technology which allows us to accept online and kiosk transactions via debit cards also permits giving via credit cards making no distinction between the two.  We strongly urge no one to incur credit card debt to give their tithes or offerings.  If you choose to do so, we will leave that as an issue of conscience between you and God.
