Visiting Cherry Street Baptist Church

Visiting any church for the very first time can be a tough experience. Well, we want to put you at ease. Your first visit to Cherry Street Baptist will be refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable for your whole family. We want you to experience inspiring music, helpful teaching and preaching, friendly people, and a place where you feel welcome and at home! Here are a few answers to your questions and what you might expect on your first visit.

What Can I Expect?

Whether visiting with us for the first time or a long-time member, we welcome everyone to worship with us.  You will be greeted by friendly faces who will assist you in getting to the right place.  We are here to minister to you in a very special way.  If there is anything you need, let us know and we will do our best to assist you.

Our worship services are structured so that everyone can participate.  Whether young or old, you will be inspired to join us in singing.  Our orchestra and choir accompany us in a balanced blend of timeless favorites and modern praise songs that help prepare us to receive the message from God’s Word and respond to His leading.

For over 50 years, music has always been a rich part of our heritage at Cherry Street.  Our multi-generational choir has been an integral part of the worship services here leading our congregation in worship.  The choir sings in each Sunday service as well as special concerts and programs throughout the year.

The Bible is the centerpiece of all that is preached and taught at Cherry Street.  Our Sunday School classes take a verse by verse approach to discipleship.  Each lesson is tailored to an age appropriate application.  The sermons brought each week are intentionally delivered so that the message is clear and the gospel is presented where everyone can understand.

We know that the care of your child is of great concern to you.  It is with great care that we tend to your children with trained nursery workers and well kept/equipped nursery facilities.  We take the security and well being of your child seriously while you are enjoying the services.

Our children’s ministry workers are gifted at teaching God’s Word in a way that your child will understand and enjoy.  Our Sunday School classes are discipleship based and go verse by verse through each book.  Our Junior Church programs are age specific in larger groups and are high energy without losing the focus of presenting the Gospel. During the school year we have our Awana program that meets on Wednesday nights focusing on scripture memorization.  We also have summer camp, Vacation Bible School and many other special events throughout the year.

With classes for Middle School, High School, and College age students, we strive to meet the unique needs young people have in our world today.  Our goal is to disciple students individually through smaller care groups while also helping students build relationships through class activities, retreats, and camps throughout the year.
